University Accommodation
University of Warsaw has six dormitories:
- DS1 “Muchomorek” (see on map),
- DS2 “Żwirek” (see on map),
- DS3 “Kic” (see on map),
- DS4 “Zamenhof” (see on map),
- DS5 “Smyczkowa” (see on map),
- DS6 “Radomska” (see on map);
and two University guest houses: Hera and Sokrates.
Each year, the International Relations Office is given a limited number of places in some of these dorms.
You can apply for a place in one of them. We offer accommodation for the whole period of your stay (one or two semesters), mostly in double rooms. Unfortunately, it is not possible to indicate the preferred dormitory or guest house.
During the application procedure at IRK platform you will be asked a question whether you want to apply for a place in a student dorm:
If your answer was „yes” and if we admitted you to our university, wait for an email from the IRO. A few weeks before the start of the semester you will receive information on whether you have been assigned a place in one of the dormitories.
We have limited number of places, therefore we offer accommodation based on „first comes-first served” basis (in the order that the applications on IRK platform are submitted = the sooner you submit your complete application, the higher you are on our candidate list). We try our best to find accommodation to all interested students close to the receiving UW unit or well communicated with the unit. If there are more interested students than places we can offer – we create a „waiting list”.
If you receive an accommodation offer from us, you have to send us accommodation form within the deadline indicated. Then we will inform you about further steps.
If you are not interested in a place in dormitory anymore, let us know, so that we can contact next student from the waiting list and offer your room to someone else.
International Relations Office offers accommodational exclusively for short-term incoming international students. Unfortunately, we cannot give places in the dormitory to full-time international students, non-UW students or students coming to UW for a traineeship. If you are one of them, please contact Student Welfare and Support Office UW.
Private Accommodation
While looking for accommodation you can browse through the accommodation platform of the Students’ Union or ESN UW Accommodation.
Every student staying in a private flat should sign a Tenancy Agreement with the owner of the flat. Please be cautious. It is not recommended to pay before signing a Tenancy Agreement and/or seeing the flat!
Our office offers a guide on how to find accommodation in Warsaw. It includes links, tips, contract templates and advice from the Legal Clinic at our Faculty of Law and Administration. Once you are accepted at IRK platform, please contact us about the details – we will send you the guide.
