Legalisation of Stay
- Citizen of European Union can enter Poland and stay within its territory up to 3 months (90 days) on the basis of valid travel document (passport) or other valid document confirming his/her identity and citizenship. If you stay in Poland longer than 3 months (and as a short-term student you come to UW for at least one semester), then you need to register your stay to make it legal.
More information on the procedure can be found on the website of UW Welcome Point. There is also a contact person dedicated solely to legalisation issues – please write to welcome.legalisation@uw.edu.pl.
- Citizens of non-EU countries may enter Poland and stay within its territory on a basis of Schengen or national visa. Visa is issued by a consul before arrival to Poland (there is no possibility to obtain one upon entry). Visa is usually issued for the whole duration of your mobility in Poland, which means that if you have visa, then your whole stay at the University of Warsaw is legal.
