Number of scholarships and length of stay: 1 one-semester scholarship

Who can apply: undergraduate and unified master’s students (completed first year of studies required), graduate students

Period of stay: summer semester 2024/25

Eligible units/fields of study: all

Financial conditions:

  • Students are exempt from tuition fees at the host university.
  • Visa, travel, insurance, study materials, subsistence and accommodation costs are paid by the student.

Required documents:

  1. Consent Form, signed by Head of the Educational Unit (EUH) or Mobility Coordinator;
  2. Certificate of grade average from the entire period of study, approved by the Student’s Office at the unit (min. 2.4 out of 4.0); GPA calculator: https://www.scholaro.com/gpa-calculator/
  3. Motivation letter justifying the choice of the receiving institution and indicating the chosen unit at the host university;
  4. Curriculum Vitae including information on academic achievements, distinctions, awards etc.
  5. Transcript of records translated into English or Japanese; the document must include information on the grading scale and the grade point average obtained;
  6. Certificate of language proficiency – English: CEFR – B2 level or higher, or Japanese JLPT N1 or N2;
  7. Certificate of Enrollment including the expected date of graduation approved by the dean’s office/secretariat (in English or Japanese);
  8. Statement of financial resources as required by the partner university (minimum JPY 500,000 per semester).

  1. Signatures of the Applicant, Advisor/Coordinator, guarantor
  2. Financial Statement
  3. Reason for studying in Japan
  4. Copy of the ID page of passport
  5. Digital Color Picture Photo
  6. Academic Reference (Recommendation Letter)
  7. Health Certificate
  8. Medical History

Remarks:

  • The receiving institution shall reserve the right to review the exchange enrolment request and make the final decision according the receiving institution’s internal regulations and the legal regulations imposed by the national and/or local authorities.
  • Students take care of the visa on their own in accordance with the procedures of the host country.
  • Students accepted by the receiving institution shall obtain approval for the study programme from the Mobility Coordinator at their home unit at UW. Learning Agreement shall be signed by the student and both institutions within 3 weeks from the beginning of the exchange.
  • Candidates may, at any time, be asked to show original documents providing achievements and received awards.
  • The documents required by the foreign university should be submitted by nominees through the SpeedVisa system by 01.11.2024. The link to the system will be sent to nominated students.
  • Additional information will be sent to nominated students.
  • Before departure, students accepted by the receiving institution are obliged to conclude an agreement with the University of Warsaw (at the International Relations Office).

Application deadline20 August 2024, until 23:59 Warsaw time zone. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.

Application (one e-mail containing all required documents shall be sent to the email address bwz.nabory.wymiana@uw.edu.pl from the candidate’s university email address (§3 Order of the Rector of UW no. 279 from 10th December 2020). Applications sent from other email addresses will not be considered.
