Solidarity with Ukraine – 4EU+ for Ukraine II / Kick-Off Meeting
The Kick-off meeting of the “Solidarity with Ukraine, 4EU+ for Ukraine II” project took place on April 25-26, 2024 at the University of Warsaw.
The first day of the event started with a welcome word from the University of Warsaw (Vice-Rector for Cooperation and Human Resources, Prof. Sambor Grucza, and the head of the International Relations Office, Dr Anna Sadecka), 4EU+ Alliance (Secretary General, Isabelle Kratz) and the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange – NAWA (Director of the Department of Programmes for Institutions, Dr Piotr Kępski). During the meeting, the participants focused on lessons learnt from the first year of the project: they reflected on the actions taken so far for the benefit of the Ukrainian academic community. Session ended with a discussion, the aim of which was to find out which activities would be the most helpful this year. The University of Warsaw presented some of their ideas for the upcoming edition, which were then discussed with Ukrainian guests. They also had a chance to suggest their own propostitions. The result was a preliminary plan of action.
Then the participants were invited to a networking session with the representatives of UW faculties and institutes – mobility coordinators and academics, with whom the Ukrainian guests were able to discuss the possibility of collaboartion on the faculty level. Two hours didn’t seem enough to conclude the fruitfull conversations.
The second day was devoted to a workshop „AI for Higher Education Institutions„. Particpants spent the rest of the day learning how AI can make their work easier.
