March (for full year students)

You registered for many courses, but you already know that you won’t attend some of them (because of timetable conflict or becuase you realised it’s not a good equivalent to courses at your home university). Did you delete them from your (O)LA? Good, but now you have to unregister from them in USOSweb. Otherwise they will appear of your Transcript of Records at the end of the mobility – with a failing grade. Simply “not taking part” or “crossing out of LA” is unfortunately not enough, only unregistration is binding. Also, by virtually “staying” on the course you are blocking a spot for someone who may really need this class.

Unregistration should be done before the deadline in the same manner as the registration was done – either in USOSweb or by Mobility Coordinator. In case if you didn’t delete the course from USOS there is also a possibility to resign from passing ONE course. This can be done in USOSweb: STUDENT’S SECTION –> Linkage –> Resign. The option is available within the deadline set in the academic calendar. You will not obtain any grade from the course and it will not be included in the Transcript of Records.

Another topic, connect with unregistration, is ECTS limit.

First of all – we do not have a minimum of ECTS you need to take. Please refer to your home university requirements.

As for the maximum: every incoming student is allow to take courses for up to 30 ECTS per semester (we understand that sometimes it can be hard to find exact equivalents and therefore we are willing to accept +10%). Every incoming student is allow to take courses for up to 60 ECTS per year (+10% flexibility applies here as well).

If you need to register for courses worth more than 33 ECTS (66 ECTS) in total, a special permission of the Vice-Rector is needed. If you wish to apply for the permission to take extra courses fill out the attached form and send it to this email: iro.incoming(at)uw.edu.pl. We will pass it to Vice-Rector and inform you once he approves.

Your student card is valid as long as the sticker on its back shows – until 31.03.

In order to prolong the validity of your card so that you can still use it without any disturbancies, you need to visit us in the office. We will prolong your card in the system and put a new sticker to confirm it’s valid for another semester.
